Hundreds of schools from around the country supported the first-ever National Schools’ Football Week (5th to 9th February 2018), staged in conjunction with the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup. Whilst schools have been hosting football themed events and lessons throughout the week, high-profile players also came out in force to back this grassroots campaign.

Back in 2014 and 2015, twin brothers Ryan and Steven Sessegnon won the ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup with Coombe Boys’ School. Since then they have gone on to start an impressive career with Fulham FC and England youth set-ups. In support of National Schools’ Football Week, the brothers made a surprise visit back to Coombe Boys’ School. Check out the video below for our telling of their incredible journey from playground-to-pro..

Later that week, it was the turn of Spurs defender Jan Vertonghen and Spurs Ladies star Renée Hector to fly the flag for National Schools’ Football Week, when they visited The John Warner School in Hertfordshire.

We would like to thank all the teachers and pupils who supported National Schools’ Football Week️. A fantastic week for PlayStation Schools’ Cup and schools’ football.
