Liverpool and England star James Milner rounded off this season’s ESFA PlayStation Schools’ Cup Tie of the Round roadshows with a visit to Wade Deacon High School in Widnes.
The popular midfielder was a big hit with the school’s pupils as he paid a visit before an afternoon training session at Liverpool’s nearby Melwood Training Ground.
As well as supporting a packed media schedule, James took part in an in-depth Q&A with over 50 pupils in the school’s Assembly Hall where he talked at length about settling in to Liverpool since his summer move and his charismatic manager Jurgen Klopp.
He also met the Wade Deacon U13 football team and took on a lucky pupil at FIFA 16 in the school’s Sports Hall, which hosted a PlayStation Gaming Zone with 16 consoles and a range of the latest titles.
James’ FIFA skills were also put to the test by Copa90 and YouTuber Bateson87 – keep an eye out on their channels to see if they were able to get the better of the two-time Premier League winner on the virtual football field!
As part of the day’s fun activities, pupils’ PE lessons were given a twist with the ESFA providing two professional football coaches to help them sharpen their skills.
We would like to say a huge thankyou to Wade Deacon High School for being unbelievable hosts, and also to James Milner for proving a fantastic ambassador for the PlayStation Schools’ Cup and a great role model.
